Consistent performances saw them finishing in the top three every season, bit it was not until 1966 that they won promotion to the top league. They made a sensational start to that season and for a while looked like potential league winners. They fell away towards the middle of the season but they still managed to reach the semi-final of the National Cup.
Corinthians were not a profit seeking club, all finances accruing from soccer went towards improving club amenities.
Their home ground was Balfour Park until their new headquarters were finished at Senderwood which was one of the finest stadiums in the country and had two pitches, one for practice.
Star players were Luco, Gonzales, Ivan, J. Joaniddes and Uriol.
